In the UK, Black Friday 2015 was Amazon’s busiest ever day of trading on record (27th November 2015). Eager shoppers purchased more than 7.4 million items on the day, at a rate of approximately 86 items per second.
According to Amazon, it offered an average discount of more than 40 percent off original prices – best sellers on the day included Amazon’s new Fire tablet for just £34.99 and the Fire TV Stick for £24.99, as well as PS4 and Xbox One console bundles, Le Creuset cookware and Paco Rabanne fragrances.
