Since last week Amazon has increased its Prime Now range of chilled and frozen products from 149 (93 Chilled, 56 Frozen) to 174 (114 Chilled, 60 Frozen).
Amazon has changed the price of 39 products – 20 products decreased in price and 19 increased. Five products have been delisted.
This week, Morrisons has significantly increased the shelf prices of Dr. Oetker pizzas and three Ben & Jerry’s ice cream products. The increased prices are due to a change in promotions on Dr. Oetker pizzas and the ending of a save amount promotion on the Ben & Jerry’s products. This means that Morrisons is now 11.9 percent more expensive than Amazon, as is Asda.
Both retailers are less competitive than last week, Asda was 9.3 percent more expensive than Amazon last week and Morrisons was 7.2 percent.
Conversely, Sainsbury’s and Ocado are now more competitive than last week – Sainsbury’s is now 19.1 percent more expensive and Ocado is now 18.4 percent more expensive than Amazon.
Amazon is sole or joint cheapest on 125 of 174 products (71.8 percent), up from 63.1 percent last week.
